The yellow bike trail in the Strawczyn Municipality is a 32-kilometer cycle loop, running through the hills of the Oblęgorek Range, between the Bobrza and Łososina river valleys. The route abounds in lovely views, interesting monuments and natural attractions. It is only moderately difficult, but it requires the cyclist to be in appropriately good shape and to use a bike rather with wide tires, due to the dirt sections.
The general route of the trail is as follows: Strawczyn (0.0 km) - Kuźniaki (7.1 km) – Góra Perzowa (9.6 km) - Oblęgor (15.6 km) - Oblęgorek, Henryk Sienkiewicz's countryside palace (17.6 km) - Bobrza (20.8 km) - Chełmce (24.4 km) - Promnik (29.1 km) - Strawczyn (32.3 km).
The trail starts and ends in the village of Strawczyn. Here there is a historic church from the 17th century and a few old wooden rural houses. The trail runs west, through the woods, towards the village of Ruda Strawczyńska, and then into the Łososina River valley, to the village of Kuźniaki. You can see here one of the most interesting technical monuments of the former Old Polish Industrial Region. The ruins of a 19th century blast furnace make a huge impression because of the size of the structure, and because the remnants of other elements of the steel mill are preserved.
From the village of Kuźniaki, the route turns east and climbs the slopes of Perzowa Mountain. At its top, there is a shrine of St. Rozalia, which was arranged in a rock cave. The hill and the up to 6 metre high cliffs of sandstone rocks at its top are protected as a nature reserve.
Undulating hillsides, striped strips of arable fields are characteristic for this area. The best vantage point from which you can admire the area is Mount Siniewska (449 m above sea level). At the foothills of the mount, the trail runs through the locality of Oblęgor to the village of Oblęgorek.
Here, at the foot of another mountain, Barania, which is also a nature reserve, there is the palace of Henryk Sienkiewicz. It houses a biographical museum, commemorating this great writer. Sienkiewicz received this property as a gift from society on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his creative work. Today, surrounded by a beautiful park, there are numerous souvenirs of the writer, who was a Nobel Prize winner, such as family photographs and his study, living room and dining room.
The trail goes past the palace and runs further east, to the Bobrza River valley. There it turns south and via Chełmce Mountain and the village of Promnik returns to the village of Strawczyn. In the village of Chelmce, you can admire the Baroque church and a manor house dating back to 17th century, one of the oldest defensive manor houses in the Świętokrzyskie region. Another manor house complex can be seen in Promnik, at the end of the tour.
