Bicycle Kingdoms

June 25, 2017

The East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo runs through the five voivodeships of Eastern Poland: Warmińsko-mazurksie, Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie.

The route, which has a length of almost two thousand kilometres, combines many unique and diverse attractions, landscapes, flavours, history and sensations that do not change immediately after crossing the administrative borders between regions. Many bikers will choose to ride the entire Green Velo trail, whilst others may prefer to stay longer in one of the regions in order to get to know it better, ride on the local trails and organize one-day trips around the area. The only the question is which part of the trail to choose for a longer stay. Below there is a list of the twelve Bike Kingdoms –the lands through which the East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo runs. Each of the Kingdoms has a unique set of local attractions which can be reached with the use of existing cycling trails or following the trail of a suggested trip. Boundaries of the Kingdoms, although virtual, do not reflect administrative borders with their course. Each land includes places that share a common history, natural beauty, local traditions and customs, as well as landform.
