The Ciekoty - Wola Kopcowa bike trail is a 10-km-long cycling route signposted with blue colour. It is one of the bike trails marked out by the Kielce-based Society of Tourism and Sightseeing in this area. It runs from the village of Wola Kopcowa, located near the Cedzyna artificial lake, through the Lubrzanka River valley, then through the Masłowski Range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains to the village of Ciekoty, under the Glass House Education Centre. The route mainly runs on quite busy asphalt roads, in quite hilly terrain. There are, however, dirt sections.
The general route of the trail is as follows: Ciekoty (0.0 km) - Mąchocice Kapitulne (3.7 km) - Cedzyna artificial lake (7.5 km) - Wola Kopcowa (9.6 km).
The route’s starting point is in Ciekoty, at the gate of the Glass House Education Centre. It is a local hub for bike trails. Next to the blue route, there is also a green route running to the village of Święta Katarzyna and yellow trail, around the Masłów Range.
In the village of Ciekoty, Stefan Żeromski, the eulogist of the Świętokrzyskie region, spent his childhood. To commemorate the writer and his work, the "Glass House" Education Centre was established. It is an educational and cultural institution, organizing exhibitions and various cultural and artistic events. Next to it, a wooden noble manor house, based on the home of Stefan Żeromski, was constructed. There is an exhibition inside dedicated to the writer's life and work.
From the Glass House Education Centre, the trail runs down into the valley of the Lubrzanka River. It runs along a road in a ravine between two hills, Radostowa (451 m) and Dąbrówka, leading to the village of Mąchocice Kapitulne. From there it runs to the northern bank of Cedzyna artificial lake.
This is recreational water reservoir at the shortest distance from the city of Kielce. It was built in the 1970s as a recreational and retention reservoir. There is a small hydroelectric power plant in the dam, and the reservoir is a popular place for summer holidays in the Kielce region. Numerous hotels and restaurants are located around the artificial lake.
The trail ends in the nearby village of Wola Kopcowa, near the airfield of Kielce aviation club. The centre of Kielce is only about 5 kilometres away from this place.
