The At the Wieprz River Bike Trail is less than 20 kilometres long, signposted in green, and runs along the two banks of the Wieprz river, below the Nielisz artificial lake. The route is quite varied, and it runs partly through the farmlands and villages in the Wieprz Valley, as well as through forests and hills on its eastern edge. The attractions of the trail include nice views and several old mansions and palaces. Due to the hilly nature of the eastern part of the route, it requires quite being in good shape.

The general course of the trail is as follows: Nielisz (0.0 km) - Ruskie Piaski (3.1 km) - Zamszany (6.3 km) - Wirkowice Pierwsze (9.2 km) - Wirkowice (10.7 km) - Ujazdowski Staw (18.4 km).

The route begins in the northern part of the village of Nielisz. It is now a popular holiday resort, with water equipment rentals, holiday cottages and accommodation offer. The attraction of the village is a wooden church dating back to 19th century.

In the first part, the route runs through the forest, growing on hilly areas, surrounding the Wieprz river valley from the east. After a few kilometres, one of the finest noble residences in the Lublin region can be seen among the trees, which is the eclectic palace in the locality of Ruskie Piaski. The building, which is over 100 years old, has been renovated along with the beautiful park in recent years. It houses a social welfare home for the rehabilitation of chronically mentally ill patients. It specializes in hortitherapy, which is garden treatment. It is served by the park surrounding it.

Further the route runs down the Wieprz River, and in the village of Wirkowice, it crosses the river and turns back towards Nielisz, encountering the signposting of the Green Velo trail. Both routes together run along the west bank of valley to the locality of Staw Noakowski, going past another, smaller and this time worse-preserved manor-and-park complexes. The route ends at the cyclist rest area of the Green Velo trail in the locality of Staw Noakowski. It is best to return to the starting point along the dam on the river - this section is less than 2.5 kilometres. Consequently, the overall trip on this route will total approximately 20 kilometres.

Points of interest along the trail:

  1. Staw Noakowski – a manor house
  2. Ruskie Piaski - a palace
  3. The Wieprz Valley and forests surrounding the valley - lovely landscapes

The entire trail is suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers.
