Green Velo

The church of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary dates back to the end of the 17^th or early 18^th centuries. Built on a rectangular plan, the log wall construction is divided in two sections and bears an octagonal drum with a pyramid roof.

One of the portals has an inscription which mentions the year 1733 – marking either the time of the erection or renovation of the church. The nave walls are decorated with polychrome paintings from the 19^th – 20^th centuries. The interior furnishings include a 17^th – 18^th century iconostasis and side altars from the 18^th century.
