Porcelain Experience Museum in Ćmielów
Museums, ethnographic parks
The Porcelain Experience Museum in Ćmielów, the first of this kind in Poland, is a place full of attractions for children and adults, where you can discover the secrets of the manual porcelain making process. During the several-hour-long guided tour, you will see directly how porcelain figures are produced, enter an old kiln, and learn the secrets of pink porcelain. During pottery workshops, you will feel like an artist when moulding a porcelain rose or decorating a figure or a cup with your own pattern. If you want to know the history of white gold in Ćmielów, you have to visit the Exhibition of Old Porcelain. In Van Rij’s Gallery of Modern Art, you will see Europe’s biggest exhibition of works by the Polish-American artist Lubomir Tomaszewski, interesting temporary exhibitions, as well as world-famous painted works transferred to porcelain boards, the “Beautiful Monkeys of Europe” collection, and unique icons “written” on porcelain. After the end of the sightseeing tour, you can rest in the Leżąca Kotka Cafe, where you will taste the world’s most expensive kopi luwak coffee as well as other delicious coffees and teas of the world served in hand-painted cups. We also recommend visiting the Marble Room – a company shop where you can buy exceptional porcelain souvenirs.
