Tykocin
Historical Towns and Villages
An atmospheric small town, which is regarded as the Podlasie pearl of the Baroque thanks to a number of historic sites, such as the representative Baroque market square, the Church of the Holy Trinity in the Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in Tykocin with a Baroque-Rococo altar and a Bernardine monastery.
Walking the charming streets, you can also come across the former hospital for disabled soldiers, wooden bourgeois houses from the 18th century, a monument to Stefan Czarniecki, the former Administrator’s House and a reconstructed castle on the right bank of the Narew. The Great Synagogue with a branch of the Podlasie Museum reminds us of the large Jewish community that lived here in the past.
