The Museum of the Leżajsk Land is a self-government cultural institution in the Leżajsk district. It is situated 100 meters away from the centre of Leżajsk.

The Museum has three permanent exhibitions dedicated to: the history of the city and the region, to ethnography and toys, and to the Leżajsk brewery. It also has an attractive courtyard with a fountain and a park of wooden toys. The Museum is also home to a Tourist Information Point where you can find all the necessary information. In the museum shop, you can buy souvenirs related to the museum and the city, as well as traditional local wooden toys. Next to the ticket office, there is a play corner, an interactive exhibition entitled "Toys with a Soul" for the youngest visitors to the Museum.

City and Region History Exhibition

The exhibition, located in the 18th century Starost Manor House, presents items related to the rich history of Leżajsk and the surrounding area, in a specially adapted attic. The official stamp of the city of Leżajsk, which you can see there, is one of the most valuable exhibits. It was based on this stamp that the city’s coat-of-arms was finally determined in 1997. In 2017, the entire exhibition was modernised and upgraded to include video and touch panels, new furniture and lighting.

Ethnography and Toys Exhibition

It is one of three permanent exhibitions in the Museum of Leżajsk Land. The exhibition is intended to promote local manufacture and to gather exhibits related to it, as well as to preserve information about traditions and customs characteristic of our small homeland, the Leżajsk Land. It presents traditional wooden toys from Leżajsk: from their manufacture to painting. The main advantage of the toys is that they have moving parts and make sounds. The exhibition is a great attraction for the youngest visitors to the Museum as well as for their parents and the elderly.

Brewing Exhibition

We invite you to visit the permanent Brewing Exhibition, which is located in one of the outbuildings of the Starost Manor House. It presents the history of global brewing, the beer production process, brewing exhibits and beer glasses, labels and prizes won by the Leżajsk brewery. During the screening of two films, visitors have the opportunity to discover both the history of the world brewing and the tradition and contemporary brewing in the Leżajsk area, as well as to taste the locally made product.

Leżajsk Toy Park

A unique wooden toy park was created in front of the museum. It features extraordinary models of traditional Leżajsk toys in unusual sizes: a woodpecker, a carriage with a horse, a rocking horse, a fan and a man walking down a ladder. They joined the push along bird – the most famous Leżajsk toy, which was the first to stand in the courtyard in front of the Museum.
