Culture Mill
Technical Monuments
This grain mill in Sławatycze is a splendid example of industrial architecture. It has largely retained its original structure. Built in 1911 on a rectangular plan, it faces the main street – which is where the GREEN VELO route passes through the village. The reconstruction of the east and west wings and the revitalisation of the site and its surroundings are currently under way.
The rebuilt mill will soon be a cultural and recreational centre, known as Młyn Kultur (Culture Mill), which offers visitors and tourists comprehensive services of a tourist and cultural nature.
A wooden shelter with a bicycle service station is already there, providing a place to relax and unwind. The Bug River is only 200 meters away, making this a particularly interesting place for fishers. Nature is a strong side of Sławatycze, as is demonstrated by the size of protected areas – more than 30% of the area of the commune is part of the Nadbużański Protected Landscape Area and the Landscape Park "Podlasie Bug Gorge". It is an area with a pristine natural environment that encourages active leisure. If you’re a fan of kayaking, hiking, fishing or taking bike trips, you'll find places of unparalleled beauty and wild nature here.
