The Czarna Hańcza is the largest river of the Suwałki Region. It starts in Suwalski Landscape Park, near the village of Okliny. The Czarna Hańcza River is the oldest and most famous canoeing trail in Poland.
Along its banks there are numerous camping sites. The river flows through areas that are exceptional in terms of landscape, geology and history. It is extremely diverse; in the Suwalski Landscape Park it takes the form of a swift mountain brook, and then, as it enters the valley, it becomes a calmly meandering lowland river.
